Over the last eight months, the Summer Villages on Lac Ste Anne have been working together to explore governance options to potentially improve service delivery, decrease costs, and improve municipal efficiency.

On July 24, 2021 the Summer Village received three Nomination forms. Since we only received three - there will not be an election this year.

2021 will be an election year in the The Summer Village of Castle Island.

The Alberta Invasive Species Council has just finished activating their new website:  abinvasives.ca

The Government of Alberta has confirmed that aquarium moss balls containing invasive mussels were received in Alberta.

Alberta Environment and Parks is developing a standard for the installation of boat docks, piers, hoists and mooring buoys.

It is suggested that residents check with their insurance companies to see if they have coverage for ice quake damage.

Take advantage of the Tax Payment Plan. By making equal monthly installments, you will avoid penalties and the need for a large lump-sum payment. Monthly payment can be made by post dated cheque or e-transfer.

Tax Certificates are $25.00 each and can be requested via email at svcastle@telus.net with proof of payment. Please make payment payable to the Summer Village of Castle Island. There is no charge for a tax search.

The Alberta Invasive Plants Council has developed a number of fact sheets that can be very helpful in recognizing invasive plants. Every property owner is responsible for removal of noxious weeds on their property.
